Family and Parenting

I'm a wife, mother of three children, and a mother-in-law. With years of wonderful and difficult experience behind me, I love writing about the ups and downs of motherhood, and encouraging moms to laugh at themselves. Because if they don't, their kids will.

I believe there is great power in commiseration, and even more in shared knowledge and positivity.

We adopted our youngest of the three children when she was six. As her mother, I've seen the manifestations of a traumatic childhood and the toll it can take on a family.

​I've also discovered the power of understanding, consistency, and love in the adoption, and love to share it with others through writing.

I am a published author with three nonfiction books to my name, and another coming out in March. I also write fiction, with a novel finished and another in the works.

I am currently the chair of the ANWA Writers Conference in Pheonix Arizona, and love to write about the craft and the journey of writing.

Along with spending time with family and writing, I also enjoy hiking, photography, blogging, music, attending church, not dieting, watching movies, making the ultimate cookie, board games,  and more.

I truly believe that life is meant to be enjoyed, and I am always on the lookout to discover new and exciting things.
